Sometimes the best stories come from the hardest storms. Alan Knitowski is an ex-military serial entrepreneur and father of four and is here to share his wisdom on hard work, overcoming circumstances and going all in.

Alan Knitowski is an amazing success story. Raised in a trailer park, he paid his own way through college and served in the US Army as an Airborne, Air Assault and Ranger qualified captain in the Corps of Engineers. His former company, Vovida Data, was sold for a nine-digit sum after only 24 months. Today, he’s a serial entrepreneur and currently stands as the CEO and Co-Founder of Phunware, a platform that mobilizes brands and helps them engage, enhance and monetize audiences. They are the fourth fastest growing software company in America and remain privately held, with 700 million users and 200 employees.

Alan was a 2014 Finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and has been a founder, executive, Angel Investor and fund manager throughout his career in the private sector. He’s frequently quoted in trade publications, serves as a panelist at industry events and writes for Wall Street Journal’s Accelerators blog. Since 2000, he’s founded, built and/or monetized 6 private companies, and assisted structuring, financing and/or building 6 other private companies and 2 small funds.
He’s a do-it-yourselfer and dreams of going public and building the most important company in the world. The married father of 4 lives in Austin, Texas and is living his purpose one entrepreneurial endeavor at a time.
